Christopher J. Lafond ’87
Chris Lafond is an experienced executive and business leader having spent the past 15 years as Chief Financial Officer at three industry leading, multinational companies. During his 30-year career in finance, Chris was worked for 2 of Connecticut’s leading companies and has held numerous finance leadership roles including head of Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Controller, and Regional CFO. He currently serves as CFO and Member of the Board of Directors at Hartford-based Insurity, a leading provider of software and services to property and casualty insurance companies in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Previously, Chris served on the executive leadership team as CFO at Stamford-based Gartner, the world’s leading information technology research and advisory company. While at Gartner, he led a turnaround and developed a financial strategy that resulted in a 7x increase in market cap through the delivery of consistent double digit organic revenue growth, dramatically expanded margins, and improved cash flow after a period of declining revenue and earnings. Chris also served as CFO of Intralinks, a global leader in secure content collaboration solutions for the financial services industry. At Intralinks, Chris helped drive improvements in execution, financial performance, and investor messaging that resulted in the successful sale of the company for its investors. Earlier in his career Chris held finance roles at IBM and JP Morgan.
Chris has been active in supporting non-profit and educational organizations in areas that he deeply believes in – affordable housing and education. Chris has served on the boards of Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County and Childcare Learnings Centers. And he has served as an advisory board member at the University of Florida MBA Program and the University of Connecticut MS in Financial Risk Management Program.
Chris lives in Wilton, Connecticut and has 2 children – Brian, a senior at Muhlenberg College, and Megan, a sophomore at Bucknell University.
