Ana Usúa Maldonado ’18 was born and raised in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Ana interned at Wellington Management as a Finance Intern and completed her Bachelor of Science in Finance at the University of Connecticut (UConn) in 2018. She decided to stay in Connecticut after accepting a position at The Hartford in their Early Career Leadership Development Program (ECLDP). At UConn, Ana was involved in multiple student organizations and the Latino community. Most notably, she worked at the Bursar’s office, participated at HuskyTHON, and was President of the Puerto Rican Student Association.
At The Hartford, Ana is part of the Finance Track for the ECLDP. Her first rotation was in External GAAP Reporting and her second rotation was in Global Specialty Financial Planning & Analysis. Her first permanent role was as a Workforce Staffing Consultant in the Claims Finance team and she is currently making a shift in her career by joining the Small Commercial Digital team as a Scrum Master. Ana keeps being involved by participating in Diversity, Engagement & Inclusion efforts, and co-leading the Hispanic Leadership Network’s PODERLift Leadership Development Program. Outside of work, Ana is a part-time student of UConn’s Master of Science in Business Analytics program. She also enjoys reading, personality tests, trying new recipes, and going to concerts. She is also looking forward to connecting with UConn students and alumni through UConn’s School of Business mentorship program.
