Al Nickerson ’86 has been a Principal with Green Hollow Capital Partners LLC since its inception and is responsible for acquisitions, asset management, financing, and disposition for the company’s commercial real estate assets. From March 2016 to February 2019, Mr. Nickerson was a Managing Director at Building and Land Technology in Stamford CT. Beginning in November 2006, Mr. Nickerson spent nearly ten years with Five Mile Capital Partners LLC in Stamford working extensively on distressed debt acquisitions, rescue capital and turnaround of capital starved properties. Prior to Five Mile, he served as a director and head of the High Yield Real Estate Debt Group at Citigroup Property Investors, where his primary responsibilities included investing in high-yield CMBS investments and mezzanine debt. At Citigroup, Mr. Nickerson’s portfolio of sub-investment grade CMBS investments is estimated to have generated opportunistic level returns. In 1989, Mr. Nickerson joined Travelers Group (a predecessor by merger to Citigroup), where he held various real estate investment positions and was responsible for the origination of commercial mortgages, B-notes and mezzanine loans as well as the acquisition of investment grade and sub-investment grade CMBS. Mr. Nickerson holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.
