Minal Patel Davis ’01 MBA, ’01 JD has been named by Houston’s Mayor Parker, the first special advisor to the mayor on human trafficking.  Mrs. Davis will coordinate with city, county, state and federal law enforcement to pursue and maintain relationships with all levels of government to best coordinate efforts and messaging around the issue of human trafficking.

Rowena Ortiz-Walters ’05 Ph.D. has been appointed as Dean of the SUNY Plattsburgh’s School of Business and Economics.  Dr. Ortiz-Walters was also named one of the 50 Most Influential Latinos in Connecticut for 2014 by the Latinos United for Professional Advancement.  In addition, Dr. Ortiz-Walters is chair of the management department in the Quinnipiac University School of Business.

His expertise is primarily with federal and state single audits and handling complex accounting and audit issues.

Luce ’03, ’03 MSA has been promoted to chief financial officer at Ironwood Capital.  Mr. Luce will be responsible for financial management and controls, external financial and regulatory reporting along with limited partner reporting while supporting overall portfolio management. Prior to joining Ironwood Capital in 2010, Mr. Luce worked as an auditor in public accounting at McGladrey and CCR LLP.
