Thomas E. Lane ’93 MBA, Senior Vice President Cross-Border Liaison, is based in Los Angeles, and works with US, Canada and UK teams across the Wells Fargo Capital Finance (“WFCF”) platform in structuring, underwriting and documenting secured cross-border loan facilities. Core aspects run the gamut from foreign accounts receivables to direct lending across more than 20 countries for working capital and term loans. Security in collateral is taken in various assets ranging from accounts receivable, inventory, property, plant and equipment as well as intangible assets.
Prior to taking on his current role in January 2016, over the course of 15 years he held roles in both asset-based and cash flow lending. As a Managing Director, Lane was a founding member of WFCF’s Technology Finance division and the unit’s National Underwriting Manager. His responsibilities included new business assessment, the group’s loan documentation, legal counsel management and served on the credit committee for over 10 years. He previously held positions in field audit, relationship management and as a credit manager working at IBM Credit Corporation, CIT, Heller First Capital and Fremont Financial Corporation.
Lane earned an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Connecticut and a B.S. in Marketing from Babson College.
