Thomas J. Banisch ’86 MBA has been elected to the Board of Directors of both the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM) and the Connecticut Interlocal Risk Management Association (CIRMA).  Mr. Banisch is serving his second term as First Selectman in Madison, CT.  Before becoming the Town’s chief elected official in 2015, he was in the chemical industry for over 40 years, the last 32 of which he has owned his own chemical brokering business.


Richard J. Tavolieri, Jr. ’89

Richard J. Tavolieri, Jr. ’89 became the managing partner of the Hartford office of Deloitte & Touche LLP in September 2017. He retains his role as Deloitte’s lead audit partner for marquee Connecticut companies. Mr. Tavolieri, who grew up in Vernon, CT and whose father was a career accountant at the former Hamilton Standard/Hamilton Sundstrand, hopes as managing partner he can leave his mark on Deloitte and, like his predecessors, make improvements.



Marc Levine ’88 MBA

Marc Levine '88 MBAMarc Levine ’88 MBA is joining athenahealth, Inc. as an Executive Vice President and will become the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, effective January 2, 2018.  Previously, Mr. Levine served as the executive vice president and CFO of JDA Software Group, Inc. and prior to JDA held several senior financial leadership roles at Hewlett Packard Company.


George Nahodil ’88 MBA

George Nahodil '88 MBAGeorge Nahodil ’88 MBA has been named President and CEO of 1st Federal Credit Union.  Mr. Nahodil was previously executive vice president in charge of retail delivery, public relations and marketing, since joining the credit union in 2001.  John Devlin, Members 1st chairman of the board, said in a news release “George has all the skills necessary – strategic vision, management, and a command of the changing environment of the financial services industry.”


William S. Simon, ’81, ’88 MBA

William S. Simon, '81 '88 MBAWilliam S. Simon, ’81, ’88 MBA, Simon is joining the leadership team of Drizly, the world’s largest online alcohol marketplace, as the first Independent Director named to the company’s Board of Directors.  Mr. Simon was formerly the President and CEO of Walmart U.S. and currently serves on the board of directors at Darden Restaurants, Inc. and Chico’s FAS, Inc, and is an adjunct professor at Baylor University.


Mark Boxer ’87 MBA

Mark Boxer '87 MBAMark Boxer ’87 MBA has been inducted into the Southington High School Wall of Honor. Mr. Boxer was an honor student at SHS, but he said it was the community service program that really prepared him for a successful career. “It instilled in me the fact that giving back to those in need is not only necessary, it is expected.” The Wall of Honor inductee serves as an Executive Vice President and Global Chief Information Officer for Cigna.


Linda B. Whinfrey ’89

Linda B. Whinfrey ’89 has been promoted to vice president of internal audit and enterprise risk management at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island.  Ms. Whinfrey was most recently the managing director in the department.  She will oversee internal audit, enterprise risk management, external audits, and quality monitoring efforts.  Prior to joining Blue Cross and Blue Shield in 2003, she worked at Metropolitan Life and Cigna Corporation.

David A. Samuels ’83

David A. Samuels ’83 was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Greater Washington, in addition to being named Audit Committee Chair. Mr. Samuels also serves as a Board of Governors member and Trustee of the Charles E. Smith Life Communities, one of the nation’s largest eldercare services organization.
