Donna M. Phelan ’00 MBA has written a new book providing surprising new strategies for women’s retirement planning. The book is entitled, “Women, Money and Prosperity: A Sister’s Perspective on How to Retire Well”. Ms. Phelan states that women need to create stackable income streams to empower retirement security (SISTERS). The book encourages women to start “SISTERS” clubs, a similar concept to book or craft clubs with the purpose of creating a nationwide conversation about women and retirement.

Melanie E. Thomas ’08 has joined CONRIC PR & Marketing/Publishing as a marketing assistant.  Ms. Thomas is a three-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star and after her playing days were over, Ms. Thomas authored a book titled “Heart of a Husky” and handled the promotion of the publication including all aspects of marketing and advertising herself.

Nicole M. Shawn R. Fields ’99

Shawn R. Fields ’99 has been selected as the new C.H. Booth library director. Mr. Fields has served as the director at Sacred Heart University’s Ryan-Matura Library in Fairfield, the Huntington Branch Library in Shelton and has also written many books including,An Introduction to Staff Development in Academic Libraries, published in 2009.
