Dr. Lynn Bowes-Sperry ’96, conducts research on issues of workplace diversity with a primary focus on the pivotal roles of bystanders and behavioral ethics in understanding and eradicating sexual harassment and other forms of discrimination. Her most recent work examines how the legal environment negatively influences the ways in which organizations address the problems of social-sexual behavior and sexual harassment, and provides recommendations for improvement. Lynn has testified as a subject matter expert on workplace sexual harassment before the Canadian Parliament and has conducted numerous professional development workshops and training sessions on sexual harassment and other related topics.
Her research is published in top management and psychology journals, has been presented at international conferences, and has recently appeared in articles in prominent outlets such as ABC News.com and the Washington Post. Lynn is a Past President of the Gender and Diversity in Organizations division of the Academy of Management (the preeminent professional association for management and organization scholars). She is currently a Professor of Management at Western New England University where she enjoys teaching courses in Workplace Diversity & Inclusion, Ethical Leadership, Organizational Behavior, and Human Resources Management.
