Julia Winer ‘16 EMBA has been promoted to chief corporate officer of Silver Fern Healthcare, a company dedicated to transforming care through its proprietary chronic disease management platform. Winer, a recent Hartford Business Journal Forty Under 40 honoree, will lead PR, marketing, product improvement, and human resources at Silver Fern.

Corrie Freudenstein ‘11 MBA  has been named vice president of customer experience at Atlas Copco in Providence, Rhode Island. Freudenstein previously served as head of marketing for Leybol, as well as vice president and director of marketing and business intelligence at Brokers’ Service Marketing Group.

Justin W. Lee ‘15 has been named a senior associate at Palladin Consumer Retail Partners, LLC, a Boston-based private equity firm focused primarily on consumer and retail products and services companies in North America. Lee held previous positions at Alantra and Duff & Phelps

Jamelle R. Elliott ‘96, ‘98 MA, an assistant coach for the UConn Women’s Basketball team, will receive the Distinguished Alumna award from the UConn Neag School of Education at the 23rd Annual Alumni Awards on March 13, 2021. Elliott is known among the coaching staff and players as a great teacher, communicator, and recruiter

George A Barrios ‘87, ‘89 MBA announced the formation of Isos Capital Management, a partnership with fellow media and entertainment executive, Michelle Wilson. Isos will be uniquely positioned to identify and execute on investment opportunities in the global media, entertainment and sports industries. /SM

Laurie P. Havanec ‘82, ‘94 JD has been named executive vice president and chief people officer by CVS Health. Havanec joins CVS Health from Otis Worldwide Co. where she served as executive vice president and chief people officer.

Christopher Logan ‘95 MBA has been named incoming President & CEO of Bank of New Hampshire. Logan joined Bank of New Hampshire’s executive management team in 2017.  

Rowena Ortiz-Walters ‘96, ‘05 Ph.D  has been named Dean of St. Mary’s University Greehey School of Business, becoming the first Latina to lead the business school. Ortiz-Walters was previously the Dean and Professor of Management in the School of Business and Economics at SUNY Plattsburgh, a public liberal arts college that is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) System.

Alex Schaefer ‘08  has been named Vice President, Acquisitions at AXA IM – Real Assets, the investment management arm of French-based multinational insurance firm Axa S.A. Schaefer was most recently a vice president at TKF Real Estate Investment, LLC, where he focused on sourcing and execution of value-add and core-plus investments in office and mixed-use assets. Schaefer has also held the roles of vice president, head of acquisitions for ALTO Real Estate Funds, as well as director within the Acquisitions Department of VEREIT.
