Angela (DeFilippo) Barone ’18 graduated from UConn with a major in Healthcare Management & Insurance Studies. Angela currently works at Consortium Health Plans as an Associate Director, Market Insights & Consulting. In this role, Angela provides Consortium’s member health plans insights from digital health solutions in the market and develops innovation enablement resources to help the plans meet the dynamic expectations of large employers. Before joining Consortium in 2020, Angela spent two years at the HR consulting firm, Mercer, as an Associate in the Total Health Management practice. While at Mercer, Angela worked with large employers to create a culture of health & well-being, advance clinical initiatives, and support inclusive benefits projects.

While at UConn, Angela was a Peer Advisor in the School of Business and a Teaching Assistant for the “Career Development in Business” course. Angela is excited to be a mentor to continue supporting UConn students in reaching their personal and professional goals. Her favorite memory at UConn was being a member of the HuskyTHON management team when the UConn community raised over $1 million for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for the first time in 2018.
