Anthony J. Scarpino, Jr. ’73 has joined the law firm of DelBello, Donnellan, Weingarten, Wise & Wiederkehr, LLP and will head the newly expanded estate practice.  Judge Scarpino was the Westchester County Surrogate Judge for 14 years. He is grateful for the opportunity to re-enter private practice after 30 years in the judiciary.

Gregory F. Murtagh  ’84 has joined  the The O Alliance as a strategic advisor.  Mr. Murtagh is a nationally recognized media industry leader specializing in e-commerce, digital media and omnichannel monetization.  In addition, Mr. Murtagh is a recipient of Advertising Age’s prestigious “Media Maven” award as well as regional recognition as “Entrepreneur of the Year” from major business publications in Florida.


Mrs. Margaret M. Mager ’85

Mrs. Margaret M. Mager ’85 has joined MBS Value Partners as a managing director.  Mrs. Mager has more than 20 years of experience as an equity research analyst and strategic advisor to public and private companies. Mrs. Mager was a top ranked analyst by Institutional Investor Magazine for nine consecutive years while at Goldman Sachs.

Conor Horrigan ’11 MBA

Conor Horrigan ’11 MBA has left a high paying job on Wall Street to follow his dreams. While enrolled at UConn and working closely with professors in the MBA program, he created a business plan and strategy that helped him win the seed money to start his company, Half Full Brewery in Stamford.  Mr. Horrigan has been recognized on the “40 Under 40” list that recognizes those who are pursuing their dreams.  Mr. Horrigan has said that “UConn’s paw prints are all over his company.”

Wonseok Choi ’15 Ph.D

Wonseok Choi ’15 Ph.D has successfully defended his dissertation titled, “Social networks and employee creativity: The impact of individual and alters’ attributes and network structure on the psychological conditions for employee creativity.” This spring, Dr. Choi will be adjunct faculty for the Management Department.

Jonathan E. Beyman ’76

Jonathan E. Beyman ’76 has joined the Board of Directors of Polaris Consulting & Services, Ltd.   The Board of Directors unanimously felt he would add immense value as Polaris enables the digital transformation of its clients.  Mr. Beyman was inducted into the University Of Connecticut School Of Business Hall of Fame in May 2009.



Donna M. Phelan ’00 MBA

Donna M. Phelan ’00 MBA has written a new book providing surprising new strategies for women’s retirement planning. The book is entitled, “Women, Money and Prosperity: A Sister’s Perspective on How to Retire Well”. Ms. Phelan states that women need to create stackable income streams to empower retirement security (SISTERS). The book encourages women to start “SISTERS” clubs, a similar concept to book or craft clubs with the purpose of creating a nationwide conversation about women and retirement.
