Andrew N. Albert ’92 MBA has been named managing director in the equity sales and trading group at R.W. Pressprich. He co-founded Shelter Harbor Capital, a global macro hedge fund, and has also worked at Weeden & Co., CRT Capital and Pali Capital.

Danielle Higgins ’13 PhD successfully defended her dissertation titled Communicating Information Beyond the Tax Footnote: Effective Tax Rate Forecasts in the MD&A. Dr. Higgins will be joining the Faculty at CUNY – Baruch College in the Fall of 2013.

James E. Cotter ’82 has been appointed to executive vice president and chief operating officer of Naugatuck Valley Financial Corporation. Prior to his appointment at Naugatuck Valley Financial Corporation, he served as senior vice president of retail banking at Newtown Savings bank.

Richard L. Baran ’93 MBA, JD has been named as chief financial officer at MediaShift, Inc., a leading digital advertising technology company that monetizes private WiFi networks and web publishing sites. Mr. Baran was most recently with Clear Channel Media and Entertainment where he served as executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Christopher L. Ayers ’96 EMBA has been appointed to president and chief executive officer at WireCo WorldGroup in Kansas City. Mr. Ayers previously served as executive vice president, president of global primary products at Alcoa.
Nykesha S. Sales ’00
Nykesha S. Sales ’00 was named as the community liaison to the assistant coaching staff for the Connecticut Sun. Ms. Sales played on the UConn Varsity Basketball Team and helped lead them to a national championship in 1995. At graduation, Ms. Sales was UConn’s all-time leading scorer. After graduation, she played on the Orlando Miracle, the Connecticut Sun, and made the WNBA All-Star team six times.

David P. Marks ’69, ‘71 MBA has joined Conning Holdings Corporation’s Board of Directors as an independent director. Mr. Marks is currently the chief investment officer of insurer CUNA Mutual Group and has over 30 years of experience working in the insurance industry.

Edward F. Lange Jr. ’86 MBA has been appointed to the position of chief executive officer of Holiday Retirement. Holiday retirements operates 316 senior communities in the United States and Canada. Mr. Lange has over 20 years of experience in residential and senior care industries and has worked at companies such as BRE Properties and Health Care REIT Inc.
