Geri Armalavage ’87

Geri Armalavage ’87 is the only woman in the U.S. to receive designations from the Certified Business Appraiser as well as the Appraisal Institute. Mrs. Armalavage is the senior managing director of Valbridge Property Advisors. Mrs. Armalavage has over 26 years of experience in her field.



Paulette R. Alviti ’92

Paulette R. Alviti ’92 has been named as the senior vice president and chief human resources officer at Foot Locker, Inc.  Ms. Alviti has more than 20 years of experience in human resources and employee management and will oversee the development of delivery and global human resources, serving over 38,000 Foot Locker, Inc. associates worldwide.



Hang T. Nguyen ’08, ’13 PhD

Hang T. Nguyen ’08, ’13 PhD successfully defended her dissertation titled, “Three Essays on the Financial Impacts of Branding Strategies and Marketing Assets.” Dr. Nguyen will join the faculty of Eli Broad School of Management at Michigan State University, as a tenure-track assistant professor in Fall 2013.


James M. Mahoney ’79

James M. Mahoney ’79 has been elected the new CPA and managing partner of Mahoney Sabol & Company, LLP, and has been appointed to chairman of the Board of Directors for the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain.  Mr. Mahoney will also serve as vice chair for Center of Special Care, Inc., its parent corporation.



Todd A. Krygier ’87

Todd A. Krygier ’87 has been named the new coach of the Muskegon Lumberjacks, a tier one junior hockey team. Mr. Krygier was a University of Connecticut All-American and was the first and only player in the history of UConn to play in the NHL. Mr. Krygier has also coached hockey for 12 years, bringing the Washington Capitals to their first Stanley Cup Finals.


Shawn R. Fields ’99

Shawn R. Fields ’99 has been selected as the new C.H. Booth library director. Mr. Fields has served as the director at Sacred Heart University’s Ryan-Matura Library in Fairfield, the Huntington Branch Library in Shelton and has also written many books including,An Introduction to Staff Development in Academic Libraries, published in 2009.
